The clients were having a new Georgian style home built. The kitchen would need to enhance the architecture.

The wish was for it to be elegant and beautifully classic with a touch of drama. A walk-in pantry with separate dish drawer, wine fridge, microwave, hot/chilled sparkling water and Ionizer tap and sink was needed and a comfortable seating area for breakfasts and casual meals was desired.

Using solid dark stained timber, raised panel doors for the island, with a double thickness and shaped profile to the Caesar stone island top creates a striking contrast to the off-white back wall of joinery behind.

White wall ovens, integrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher were selected to blend in seamlessly and provide a more cohesive look.

They also required the capacity to have more than 2 people working in the kitchen easily. The length of the kitchen and the walk-in pantry provides ample bench space and the layout provides easy access to all appliances.

The extension to the island with feature profile to the bench and enough seating for 5 under the chandelier provides a convivial and comfortable place to eat casual meals.

Balance and symmetry were a feature of the home so elements of this were utilized in the kitchen design.

Use of spot lighting in the glass door cabinets on the back wall and in the scullery, open shelves and the impressive chandelier over the island creates a fitting mood, drama and interest at night.
